The Peer Listening Project – Taster Session
June 9 @ 10:30 - 11:30
As part of The Listening Project we will explore how to create space for others, how to listen and how to take care of ourselves so we don’t get bogged down by what we hear. We’ll need lots of practice so there will also be lots of chances to be listened to.
At the end of the course we will partner you with another woman who has taken part so that you can become listening partners and continue to provide listening support for each other. Then no matter what life throws at you, you will have someone to listen to you.
The course will enable you to improve your listening skills and have the opportunity to be heard. The skills you will learn can be invaluable in daily life in being able to hear more clearly what is important to others, and to fully listen and understand before responding.
Quotes from previous participants:
‘I feel I can genuinely listen to people with a gentle curiosity and with empathy but without “taking on “ their issues , I really enjoy this’
‘It has given me my first listening partner, which is wonderful and I have already gained so much through this in just a few short weeks. I have been able to alleviate some really difficult anxiety through the listening partnership’
‘As I am more clear with my boundaries and more understanding in others`’ capacity, I felt more present with them and this in itself has been helping and caring. I realised helping and caring does not have to require much energy and can also be nurturing for me. ‘
This session is a taster session so you can find out if The Peer Listening Project is for you.
Full course dates – 5 Wednesday mornings June 16th – July 14th 10am-12pm via zoom plus a listening practice with a partner each week between sessions
