Using Crowdfunding to get financial support your new business idea

Have you got a good idea for a business but do not know where to get financial support?

Crowdfunding has proven to be a very popular and successful way of bringing in that much needed cash.

But how do you get started?

And, is it Ok to ask people for money for your business?

In this session, Jane Binnion and Elaine Remy will talk you through what you need to do, what works – and the pitfalls.

About the session leaders..

Jane Binnion is the MD of The Growing Club CIC and a social media trainer. Jane has worked with numerous women to support their crowdfunding activities and crowdfunded her own book. The Heart of Sales

Elaine Remy is the founder of Vie’s Jamaican Rum Cakes – The Rummiest Cakes in Cumbria. She sold her first cake just two weeks before the first lockdown and managed to raise over £11,000 to buy a delivery van, -in under a month – just after the second lockdown. Over £6,000 was raised through crowdfunding and the remainder was matched by what was then the NatWest Back Her Business Scheme.
