Sand Arts and Crafts is a creative arts and crafts business located in Morecambe, I offer a variety of workshops and events for children and adults, including sand art, build-a-bear, and craft workshops. I facilitate events of all sizes, from small birthday parties to large corporate events.

My sand art workshops are a great way for children to learn about different colours and patterns. They use their imagination to create beautiful pictures. My build-a-bear workshops are a great way for children to learn about animals and to use their imagination to create their own stuffed animals. My craft workshops are a great way for children to learn about different materials and to use their creativity to make their own crafts.

I am passionate about providing a fun and creative environment for children and adults. I offer a variety of workshops and events to suit all ages, abilities, and interests. I can tailor my workshops and events to meet the specific needs of your clients or the theme of an event.

If you are looking for a fun and creative way to spend time with your child or adult friends, please contact me to learn more about my workshops and events. I would be happy to help you plan the perfect event for your group or party.

What made you join The Growing Club?

I joined the growing club after having my 4th Child, I was at a bit of a crossroads and the Sowing Club, now Changing Directions seemed to be the ideal way to find my new direction. It was also held in Morecambe at the time, close to my house, it was local and that made it accessible, especially with a young baby who attended with me as I had no childcare.

Tell us about your journey with the Growing Club?

I joined the Sowing Club in early 2019 and took a 6-week course. I continued with the Roots to Shoots, business start-up program at the end of 2019. In 2020, the world shut down, but the group continued online and eventually in person. I loved the support, and when they asked if anyone wanted to help out with the next course, I knew I wanted to help out. I became a trainee trainer in the second course, and due to popular demand, I became an assistant trainer in the third course. Now I run the group alongside a trainer as a co-trainer.

I have also followed my own path onto the next course, Bloom and Grow.

What has been your biggest challenge of the last couple of years?

Covid Years – My business is a personal and up-close fun interactive activity that cannot be run fully over zoom, I did run many workshops on zoom and it works for people not local but it doesn’t have the same magic.

The risk assessments coming out of lockdown to run events and all the extra cleaning, after everything was touched once, the masks and hand gel. It was necessary to keep everyone safe but made everything too clinical and it also loses the fun and the relaxed nature of craft workshops.

What are your plans for the next 12 to 24 months??

2 Months: To have regular events in local family pubs for the children, fully paid for by the venue. To be invited and paid to run children’s crafts for big local events. To run adult sand therapy events.  have team members running events I can’t attend.

24 Months: To have all the above plus a venue in Morecambe to run events from plus drop-in days for summer, sand art workshops, and build a bear workshop.

What is your biggest take away from your time with The Growing Club?

Unquestionable support and no judgments
